About Us

The name Bailey-Gibson has been synonymous for years with a commitment for satisfaction and customer service. From the president's office, to the sales floor, to our well trained mechanics, the Bailey-Gibson team is committed to their number one objective - - customer satisfaction.

Customer satisfaction is just one of the many reasons why Bailey-Gibson has more return customers than any other in Glasgow. "We want our customers to know that we care about them long after the sale. We hope that our customers will want to become part of our Bailey-Gibson family. We want to not only be your new car headquarters, but a place when time permits our customers will want to stop by and just say 'hello'," says President Danny W. Gibson. 'We want to attract new customers, but at the same time we are committed to meeting the needs of our existing customer base. We want our customers to know that everyone at the dealership is committed to serving their needs no matter what they may be. Whether a customer is in the market for a new car, or in need of service work on their current vehicle, all customers are important to those of us at Bailey-Gibson.

How We Got Here

Map and Directions

Danny Gibson became sole owner of the Buick, Pontiac, GMC dealership, located at 306 Happy Valley Road in Glasgow in 2003. At that time Gibson purchased all stock in the dealership previously owned by his longtime automobile partner, Marshall Bailey, who retired at that time. Gibson became a partner in the dealership in 1977, along with Bailey and another well known automobile executive in Glasgow, Ed Peterson. In the early 60's, Peterson purchased the Buick, Pontiac and GMC dealerships.

Twenty years earlier, around the mid 50's, the Buick dealership was owned by Ed Pedigo. The Pontiac brand was owned by Jimmy Pedigo. Both dealerships were located near the downtown square. Ben and Elmer had previously owned the GMC dealership. Peterson bought all three dealerships, which were then re-located at the dealership present home at 306 Happy Valley Road.

When Gibson, a Metcalfe County native and U.S. Navy veteran, began his career in the auto industry there were 14 people employed at the dealership. Today, that number has more than doubled with 30 full time employees, including a sales staff of 10 individuals, who have collectively logged over 200 years of sales experience.

Bailey-Gibson responded to growth in both its customer base and a larger inventory when the dealership expanded from its original site at 306 the Happy Valley Road when three commercial buildings located on the west side of Milton Ave. were purchased and torn down for future growth. The expansion project not only provided Bailey-Gibson with additional space, but help the appearance of the area, with the older buildings being torn down and a new look give to the area which sets at a triangle between the Happy Valley Road, Lexington Drive and Milton Ave.

That area is now home to the dealership's used car inventory, with separate office for salesmen to talk with customers outside of the busy new car showroom. The showroom and service area remain in the original building, which also houses offices for sales personnel and financing.

Since Gibson first joined the dealership he has seen inventory grow from approximately one-half million 30 years ago, to $ 5 million today.

Where Do We Go From Here

The dealership began 2007 by introducing a new website (www.baileygibson.com) which was designed for customers to navigate easier and provides more information for those people who are considering a new or used vehicle purchase.

Many of today's car buying customers are much more savvy about their new car purchases and have often researched the web and know more about the vehicle they are looking for before ever arriving at the showroom. For that reason Bailey-Gibson wants to provide its customers with as much information as we can. The new website offers a complete listing of our new and used car inventory and allows customers to receive pre-approval for financing. Anyone whom you would like to contact at Bailey Gibson is just a click away with our new company wide email system.

Throughout the years, Bailey-Gibson has played a vital role in Glasgow's business community and is a strong supporter of many community and civic events. While meeting the demands of a growing community in an ever demanding electronic age Bailey-Gibson has always prided itself in meeting the needs of its customers by placing customer satisfaction as its number one priority. "As we grow, we work daily to continue to serve our customers on a personal level. No business should ever become too large, or too automated, to remember that down home personal service is what makes our customers return time and time again," Gibson said.

"Our level of sales and service is measured only by your satisfaction."
